AAPL is set to hold an event at 1 PM ET at which the company is widely-anticipated to unveil the iPhone 5. In conjunction, the company is likely to release the update to its mobile software, iOS 6, and perhaps a few more products -- like an updated iPod Touch lineup, maybe even a refresh to the iMac lineup or the iPad mini. So prior to event, we wanted to provide a few bullet points on what's expected.

•iPhone 5 specifications: It's expected to increase the screen size to 4'' from the current 3.5'' model. The screen has been rumored to supplied by Sharp. As with all iPhone releases, we expect an upgraded processor, camera and battery.
•4G LTE: A search on AAPL's website this morning revealed a page for the iPhone LTE. While not a confirmation, it's more than likely that AAPL's iPhone will run on LTE. The carriers may be the ones that really benefit here, as they are allowed to charge a premium for service on 4G networks.
•NFC: As the event approaches, there has been less and less indication that the iPhone will include NFC. They play here that could come under pressure is NXPI.
•iOS 6: This is what the iPhone will run on. We know this because the developer kit has already been seeded. There shouldn't be too much surprise here. Passbook, a key feature in iOS that allows you to scan your iPhone for air travel or movie tickets, could steal the show. The distinction here is that the iPhone
•iMac and iPad Mini: AAPL rarely unveils many products at once. Management likes the focus on a single product lineup, in this case it would be iOS. While that said, they probably won't focus on anything outside the iOS ecosystem. This would exclude Mac launches, but would not exclude the iPad.
•rice: Don't expect AAPL to change the $199 price point that has worked so well for them. With that said, it's likely that they lower the price on previous models.
•Release Date: If AAPL follows its normal release schedule, it's likely that the phone will be ready for sale in the next two weeks. Pre-order could be open as soon as Friday, according to rumors, which may push up that release date.
