The word in Chinese for bubble is “paomo.” Investors would do well to learn it. There are some Chinese Internet companies that will make real money, not just investors’ dollars, from this bubble, and investors would do well to learn their names too (see below for those). For the companies that just IPO’d, congratulations are in order to their CEOs and to their investment bankers, who timed the markets perfectly for the “China Internet” play.
As in any bubble worth its foam, investors are not frightened but actually excited by all the talk about crazy Chinese IPO fever. The headline on this article, “China IPOs: How Do You Say ‘Bubble’ In Chinese?”, likely just prompted some investors to click “bid” on $YOKU in an almost perverse Pavlovian response.

腾讯科技讯（胡祥宝）12月8日消息，今天晚上9点16分，优酷CEO古永锵在公司上市前夕对腾讯科技等媒体进行了越洋视频电话会议。

古永锵表示，上市是提升品牌、拉开与对手距离的战略决定。

“最近我们在很多城市，开了85个会议。在纽交所看到五星红旗我很快乐和喜悦。未来，公司要以平常心向前走。”古永锵说：“选择纽交所上市，因为纽交所是蓝筹股上市的平台。”

对于优酷未盈利就上市，古永锵说：“对用户而言，上市是个战略决定，融资不是最重要的。这是公司发展中的阶段战略，上市就像个毕业典礼，从好的中学到好的大学。上市能帮助未来3-5年的发展。”

古永锵宣称，优酷在上市前现金储备数千万元，上市后，对行业有推动的作用，对中国乃至世界互联网都将产生影响。未来，“优酷对不同的机会有开放的态度，将不断提高公司的价值。

今晚，古永锵等一行优酷高官将在美国纽交所敲响IPO的上市钟，发行价12.8美元(目前已经蹦到$45)，发行15,847,700 股美国存托凭证，募集资金总额将达2.03亿美元左右。
