Chinese education system is one of the best, if not the best in the world.
Every student in Stanford, from USA, or from China, or from any corner of the world, is studying harder than Chinese students in China.
In another word, students in China should work harder to catch up the gap.
Give you a fact, last year classroom of Compute Engineering at Stanford, was with over 700 students, even worse (very crowded) than China. That's not better than some colleges in China.

Students at Stanford spend almost twenty hours in classroom. Those students in China worked hard and got reward. That’s not bad. Especially if you hope to beat your American peers. I won’t bash Chinese education system for this reason.
